thursday-things that i need
for everyone in congress, and probably everyone in the world to spend 45 minutes listening to Dr. Doug Melton of the harvard stem cell institute.
honestly kids, in 50 years they're going to look at that veto and wonder why the president of the united states didn't want to cure cancer.
note: to anyone who objects to stem cell research on moral grounds, let me point out that this bill did not make using material from terminated pregnancies illegal. that's entirely legal (not at all what these scientists do, but still legal). scientists who work with embryonic stem cells think that it is better to use left over fertilized eggs from in vitro fertilization clinics to try and cure disease. the president apparently thinks it's better to incinerate them.

i could go for the heat, because i think that ninety-five degrees is so unnecessary, and i am not sleeping well, but that seems a bit disingenuous from someone who complains about the cold as much as i do.

why they continue to print "the family circus"
i mean, does anyone like it?
there is a great line in the movie go that i think encapsulates my feelings towards it.
todd: And it's always there, in the lower right hand corner, just waiting to suck.
bring back calvin and hobbes. because remember kids: it's either spectacular, unbelievable success, or crushing, hopeless defeat. there is no middle ground! . . . ok. there is a middle ground, but it's for sissy weasels.

my heels which are fairly well blistered at the moment.
we took the advice of mr. waits, and last night we tangoed 'till we were sore.

friday-things that puzzle me
(since i will be out of town tomorrow)
bikers in this city. i have begun to fear them more than drivers when i am walking from the subway to work. they ride the wrong way up one way streets. they ride on the sidewalk (my favorite is when they almost run over me on the sidewalk next to the sign that says "absolutely no riding your bike on the sidewalk")
i know you're being environmentally conscious and all that, but learn some manners people. and some traffic laws!!

i'm building a website for a certain poet. now i know what you're saying, why nil, i didn't know you could build websites! well, my dear readers, therein lies the problem.
if you want to check out my progress and you can guess the poet, just go to that poet's name.com, and you can laugh at the renegade animation that last night made at least one of the pictures jump across the screen when you moused over it.
